   Middlers Minimize

The 4th-6th grade program is active at Antioch! The 4th-6th grade program, called the Middler Program, will be holding to the standard youth and children’s vision that I have instituted in all of my ministry areas. For those of you who missed it, the mission statement for these is to Seek God, Share Life, and Give Back.

Seeking God is paramount to a Christian’s initial salvation and maturity, and will be seen in the Middler Bible studies and worship sessions on Sunday mornings. Sunday school will be the primary area that we use to help Middlers Seek God.

Sharing Life helps us to grow together and support one another and will be seen in the fellowship and fun of the group. This element of the Middler program will take place during the Church-time program.

Giving Back is our natural response to what God has given us, and the Middlers will be given the opportunity to serve others in ministries here at the church and also off-site. We hope to have big opportunities once a month, but smaller, less tangible opportunities for ministry already exist in the program as the kids help make it happen.

As the kids move from seeking God to sharing life to finally giving back, we will see their growth in Christ actually taking place before our eyes! The mission statement is our process, so it’s easy to explain to anyone that asks, “so what is your program all about?” Well, we seek God, share life together, and give back to the Kingdom! We seek God in study and worship, share life in fun times together, and give back in ministry as a natural response to what God has done for us!

The Middler church-time program meets every Sunday except for the 1st and 5th Sundays of each month. The first Sunday is because of the children’s sermon that is given on those Sundays and so that they can spend time with their families in the larger worship service. The fifth Sunday is not active because it works better for our volunteer scheduling and allows more family time for the middlers and the staff.
