#1. I was ready to file for a divorce when coming here. I was not even wearing my wedding ring. I am now committed to stay no matter what and I am leaving with my ring where it belongs!
Wife, Married 20 yr.

When we first came to the conference 6 years ago we were a broken family. We were working through an affair, drug abuse and lots of controlling and fighting. We are now a family that is trusting, God fearing and loving family who returns often.
Wife, Married 15 yr.

As a pastor, I pray with many people, but have always struggled to pray with my wife. We have committed to pray together each day!
Husband/Pastor, Married 20 years

Even though we have good communication, we both found there was work to be done. I found out that my silence is doing more harm than good.
Wife, Married 6 yr.

Being able to break through and talk about things previously off limits. Move from seemingly enemies opposed to each other to friends and teammates on the same team.
Husband, Married 9 yr.

When we first got here, we weren’t even talking to each other. We had a terrible blow out in a series of blow outs that has become the norm for us, and we almost didn’t make it. I can’t say what the long terms effects will be, but I can say that the effect and feeling we’re walking out with now is commitment to God, each other, and achieving oneness! Wife,
Married 1.5 yr.

Communication has been very difficult for us as re-marrieds. Each of us brought a lot of baggage from our past into this marriage. This conference helped us begin to change that.
Wife,
Married 3 yr.

Date night – I was anticipating a romantic evening and ended up finding out devasting news about my husband. This conference worked on him to share with me. Now the trust is stronger than before!
Wife, Married 7yr.

This is our fourth year. We will be back. We have funded two other couples. One of the couples came this weekend and greatly benefitted. We have changed. I enjoy the time with my wife and I get to talk about the activities. We confront topics we would never find time to confront, or would avoid.
Husband, Married ?? yr.

The topics covered on the 2nd day of the agenda…WOW. Positive affect. Eye opening, soul-shaking, downright in-your face awesome.
Female/Student/Pre-married

If you were unable to attend this conference but would like to go to one, there will be more next fall.  Go to www.familylife.com/weekend to find out where and when they are in an area convenient for you.  You can even still register under our group rate for any conference as long as it is at least 10 days before the conference you choose.  Register under www.familylife.com/groups/ostby.

Weekend to Remember Marriage Conference Volunteer Opportunities

CONFERENCE MINISTRY TEAM
Volunteer Training Opportunity

A “Weekend To Remember” is certainly an experience you’ll never forget.  You’ve experienced the sound Biblical teaching and encouragement to strengthen your marriage and your family. Now is your opportunity to extend the blessings you’ve received into new blessings of seeing other marriages strengthened through your volunteer efforts.

As local volunteers with Family Life, it's hard to concisely express what it's like to serve and labor in preparation for the conference...to have the privilege of praying for couples...and seeing the work God does during the weekend.

Are you ready?  Would you like to learn how you can be a part of the local Weekend To Remember Conference Ministry Team?

Volunteer to be a Group Coordinator

As a Group Coordinator, you register a group on the FamilyLife website where the people you invite can register and you invite people, giving them your group name and webpage.  People registering in a group save $80 per couple and for every five couples registered in your group you receive one FREE couple's registration to any conference this year.  You can even transfer your registration to another couple, if you wish.  This year Group Coordinators register their group BEFORE beginning to invite people.  Then the attendees register themselves using the Group Name.  The Group Coordinator can check the website to see their progress in filling the group.  Once 5 couples have registered under their group number, the Group Coordinators get to go free!  Click HERE to get more information about registering groups.

A Group Coordinator simply activates their group, orders their supplies, then invites people to go to the conference and gives them a brochure with their Group Name.  They can also personalize a webpage for their group with their own testimony and information.  In return, if 5 couples that they have invited register to come to the conference using their Group Name, the Group Coordinators are able to attend the conference for FREE!  If you would like to register to become a Group Coordinator, fill out the Group Coordinator Registration by clicking HERE (https://www.kintera.org/site/apps/ka/rg/register.asp?c=dnJHKLNnFoG&b=4486901&en=efIDLMOuGfLHJSOEIbICLQPBLpJQLPOwGhJKLVNzFgIMJZOME).  Then order your promotional materials and begin inviting people!

Volunteer to be a part of the Wichita Conference Team

We would love to have you as a part of our local Wichita Team.  We need people who are willing to participate in a variety of positions: making phone calls, coaching Group Coordinators, Prayer Team, distributing brochures, and many other positions.  We also need help at the conference setting up, tearing down, working in the resource center, stuffing manuals, greeting, etc.  You can get discounts or even attend free if you can help with these conference jobs.  Please call Shelley at Antioch Christian Church (316) 943-2784 or register as a conference volunteer by clicking HERE,  if you would be willing to be part of a team that is working to save marriages in Kansas!

5 Steps for Resolving Conflict in Marriage

Dennis and Barbara Rainey

Few couples like to admit it, but conflict is common to all marriages. We have had our share of conflict and some of our disagreements have not been pretty. We could probably write a book on what not to do!

Start with two selfish people with different backgrounds and personalities. Now add some bad habits and interesting idiosyncrasies, throw in a bunch of expectations, and then turn up the heat a little with the daily trials of life. Guess what? You are bound to have conflict. It's unavoidable.

My Story: Five Secrets for Building Our Marriage

By Brenda Griffith

“What’s your secret?” It’s a question my husband, Greg, and I have heard many times. First it humbles us and then it excites us because we have been invited to discuss our two favorite subjects: God and each other. Sometimes the conversation includes the fact that we have attended 12 consecutive years of Weekend to Remember® marriage conferences. Then the questions really get rolling!
