I would have to say there are other areas of interest in my life. Knowing even just a little about me you would know I like cars., any kind old, new, strange or racers But that would really be just the tip of the iceberg. A more actuate statement would be. All things mechanical; both big & small. From a engine that’s three stories tall to a model airplane engine the size of a plum and all things mechanical in between. If there could be a case made for heredity, I come from a rather long line of blacksmiths, inventors and of all thing clergy types.
What I noted early on in my Christian walk was the difference my presents made in the shop. How fast they were to pickup on or point out anything that wasn’t Christian, that you might fall into. It has you on your toes all the time. Even the perception could lead to conclusions not wanted. However, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I learned a lot, got to work on all kinds of cars and engines. The best part was have people (other mechanics, service writers) ask you question about why you were different from most others.

You make a very good point. Many of us are so insulated in our Christian culture. It is through our outside interests that we connect with the world and our witness as Christians should always be of prime importance to us. In those situations, we are truly "Ambassadors for Christ."
