Dear Friends in the Faith,
This is a note to ask for specific prayer.
Nedra will be having surgery Monday, October 5, around 12 noon, to have a partial hysterectomy. This is needed due to non-cancerous, fibroid tumors that cause some excess pain and discomfort on a regular basis. The surgeon has told us the surgery is fairly routine and should be about 2 – 3 hours. He is also a believer and has been a tremendous encourager.
Please pray for the following things:
- That the surgery is indeed routine and nothing new will develop.
- That the pain will be manageable…even though we know from others it will be very uncomfortable for about 4 – 6 weeks.
- That Nedra will be able to recover fully with no other complications. (We are not expecting any, but ask you to pray)
- That Travis and I can be great helpers and supporters as Nedra recovers.
Nedra should be home sometime Wednesday, barring any unknowns. We will keep you informed. At this time we anticipate that visitors may need to wait until we get home, since her stay at Baptist will be short, and while she is there she will be "under the influence of pain medication". :o(
My awesome Manager, Tim Bell, has given me the freedom to work from home as Nedra needs, and Travis is available as well...which we are thankful for both! As you might guess, we feel very supported from everyone we are associated with here at FamilyLife and our church family at Grace Church. Susan Morris is serving as coordinator for those who are asking how they can help. She can be reached at 501-773-3432.
Thank you so much for standing in the gap for us! You are a blessing to us.
If you desire to send Nedra a card or an e-card, the contact information is below.
In His Service, and on behalf of our family,
